We see the strongest value for Verisure in custom home installations, particularly those needing outdoor cameras and police response.
Flats, renters, and customers seeking self-monitored systems typically see more value in self-install systems like Simplisafe.
When comparing costs spread across categories, Verisure’s market position becomes clear with a high value for mid-size homes but a lower value for flats and renters. The most notable savings compared with other premium monitored systems like ADT can be seen in the value and monitoring service delivery.
This pricing scheme makes the most sense for a homeowner or long-term renter that can take advantage of custom installation and enjoy steady savings on the monthly costs over several years.

A key feature of Verisure’s pricing is locked-in contracts. This is good for long-term customers looking to guarantee the quoted price, but frustrating for renters and DIY customers that need the flexibility to toggle service on and off month to month.
However, this is less ideal if you’re a renter or in a small home where a “starter” kit with a couple sensors and 1–2 cameras can cover the whole premise.
For these customers, DIY systems with optional monitoring plans like Simplisafe make more sense because the equipment is easier to remove and re-install without a contractor.
DIY customers can also consider alarm-only systems, which opens up knockoff and Amazon products which, while less reliable, can certainly accomplish the job of simply making a big racket when triggered. In a dense apartment complex, noise alone can do an effective job of deterring burglars. Standalone homes, meanwhile, get more value out of monitored, audio-response, and police notification systems since neighbours are less likely to be disturbed by a break-in.

On the lower end of the market, Verisure competes directly with “DIY” self-install systems, namely Simplisafe. Simplisafe also offers professional monitoring similar to Verisure, but they do it in a no-frills package attached to a self-installed Wi-Fi system.
The big difference is in their flexibility on monthly plans: Simplisafe offers contract-free plans with monitoring as low as £19.99 per month, and some “hybrid” plans without professional monitoring for even lower. Verisure only offers multi-year plans (typically three years), and the monthly fees trend higher than Simplisafe.

Verisure’s higher pricing is driven by premium features like guard response and fog barriers. The fog barriers are a key piece of kit for customers that want to deter in-and-out robberies with more than a loud noise and police alert.
As a rule, Verisure offers a better value for homeowners and long-term residents. Simplisafe and similar DIY systems are the clear choice for renters, smaller spaces such as flats, and for smart home enthusiasts who enjoy configuring everything themselves via Wi-Fi.

When installing a home security system, our burglar alarm cost deep-dives have shown Verisure’s stacking up well.
The key benefit of Verisure’s pricing is that contract agreements lock-in the costs for multiple years, and that equipment is often leased versus purchased outright to make equipment swaps and upgrades simple.
The key drawback of Verisure’s pricing that we saw was a lack of flexibility for customers seeking temporary or contract-free service, and a lack of visibility into pricing for off-the-shelf services.
Verisure offers a good value for homeowners, since their pricing is structured in price-locked contracts. Renters and small flats are typically better serviced by DIY systems like Simplisafe or Ring. Verisure pricing is quoted individually based on the components needed for customer homes.
Verisure offers customised pricing, meaning that each custom pays a slightly different fee based on their equipment and monitoring needs.
